Bad Bunny hits No. 1 on Billboard Hot 100 after Super Bowl halftime performance

One of Bad Bunny’s singles has claimed Billboard’s top spot after headlining this year’s Super Bowl halftime show.

According to Billboard, Bad Bunny’s “DtMF” hit No. 1 on its Hot 100 chart.

“DtMF” rose to the top of the chart following the Puerto Rican singer-songwriter’s performance at Super Bowl LX on Feb. 8.

Bad Bunny closed his set with the chart-topping single from his sixth solo studio album.

Billboard reports that the Spanish-language “DtMF” reached No. 2 on its Hot 100 in January 2025, when first released, before jumping up to the top spot this month.

Bad Bunny’s streams of his catalog jumped 175% in the U.S. the day after the Super Bowl, when compared to the previous Monday, Feb. 2, The Associated Press reported earlier this month.

That previous Monday was also the day after the 2026 Grammys, when the artist born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio won album of the year.

Loved ones have reportedly launched a fundraising campaign to support James Van Der Beek’s family following his death.

Those close to the Van Der Beek family are said to have created a GoFundMe campaign in the name of the late actor, who died this week after revealing he was diagnosed with stage 3 colorectal cancer in late 2024.

“The costs of James’s medical care and the extended fight against cancer have left the family out of funds,” the GoFundMe shared.

The star of such hits as “Dawson’s Creek” and “Varsity Blues” died at the age of 48, leaving behind a wife and six children.

“Throughout his illness, the family faced not only emotional challenges but also significant financial strain as they did everything possible to support James and provide for his care,” the campaign said. “In the wake of this loss, Kimberly and the children are facing an uncertain future.”

According to the fundraiser, any money raised will help the family cover essential living expenses while helping the Van Der Beek children continue their education.

The GoFundMe has currently raised more than $500,000, receiving donations from over 8,000 people.

Van Der Beek’s family confirmed his death in a statement shared on Wednesday on Instagram.

“Our beloved James David Van Der Beek passed peacefully this morning. He met his final days with courage, faith, and grace,” his wife, Kimberly Van Der Beek, wrote.

Sheriff asking residents to stop calling tip line to give condolences to Nancy Guthrie family

Tucson, Ariz.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department is asking residents not to call its communication center to share thoughts and prayers for the family of Nancy Guthrie.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos shared the community message Thursday evening, as the department is in its fifth day investigating the disappearance of Guthrie, “Today” host Savannah Guthrie’s 84-year-old missing mother.

In the post, Nanos asked community members to use the department’s non-emergency phone line for tips only and not for sharing their heartfelt messages for the Guthrie family.

“Calls expressing condolences have overwhelmed our communications staff and it’s critical that the line remain available for law enforcement purposes,” the sheriff’s message said.

Nanos said the department understands that many want to share their thoughts and prayers with the family and it appreciates the community’s support.

Officials advised those who want to reach out to share messages through social media.

“Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we continue to serve the community,” the department said.

Authorities said they believe Nancy Guthrie was taken from her Tucson-area home against her will over the weekend, with her blood being found on the porch of the house.

Nanos said Thursday morning he has no proof that the 84-year-old is still alive, but the team is holding out hope she is “still out there.”

‘Full House’ star Dave Coulier announces he is now in remission from tongue cancer

Dave Coulier says he is cancer-free.

The actor and comedian shared the good news about his cancer update on “Good Morning America.”

Coulier, 66, was diagnosed with stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma in 2024 and first went public about his tongue cancer diagnosis last December.

“It’s been a roller coaster ride for sure,” the comedian said. “I’m in remission with both cancers. And what a journey this has been.”

Coulier’s announcement came on World Cancer Day, and he shared his update in an interview with “GMA” anchor Robin Roberts, a breast cancer survivor.

Beloved for his portrayal of Uncle Joey in the ’90s sitcom “Full House,” Coulier also emphasized the importance of early detection during his Wednesday interview.

“I never wanted to be the poster boy for cancer ... but now I feel like I can encourage people to get those prostate exams and mammograms,” he said. “Just talk to your doctors and get ahead of this.”

Coulier thanked his family and close friends for supporting him along his cancer journey.

Sen. Mitch McConnell hospitalized for flu-like symptoms, reports say

Mitch McConnell has reportedly been hospitalized after experiencing flu-like symptoms.

Multiple outlets report that the Kentucky senator checked himself into an area hospital Monday evening.

Politico reports that McConnell checked himself into the hospital “in an abundance of caution” after experiencing “flu-like symptoms,” according to David Popp, a spokesperson for the Kentucky Republican.

Popp’s statement continued, saying the 83-year-old’s “prognosis is positive and he is grateful for the excellent care he is receiving.”

The senator is said to be in contact with his staff and is looking forward to returning to business in the Senate.

McConnell has had some reported falls in the Capitol over the years, including being absent from the Senate in December 2024 as he recovered from a fall.

The longtime senator has said he does not plan to run for reelection.

McConnell has represented Kentucky in the U.S. Senate since 1985.
