Del Mar — Race 7
#3 Handy Dandy
Talk about a horse with back class that is head and shoulders above this field.
Handy Dandy was running in Grade 1 and Grade 2 races just a couple of years ago and he now finds himself in his easiest race in recent years while making his debut run for first-off-the-claim master trainer Bob Hess.
The 5-year-old is not in those stakes’ races anymore, and he can handle this field with ease just on his class alone while making his third start of a layoff with a pedigree that says routing on turf is the perfect combo.
Adding SoCal’s top rider in Juan Hernandez just adds to the intrigue to make Handy Dandy an easy bet to make on Sunday.
