Emma Watson has reportedly been banned from driving for six months after she was caught speeding in England.
CNN reports the “Harry Potter” star was caught driving her blue Audi at 38 mph in a 30 mph zone on July 31, 2024.
The 35-year-old reportedly did not appear for the brief hearing at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, where she was fined $1,400 and disqualified from driving.
BBC reports that the court heard Watson already had nine points on her license prior to the latest speeding incident, before making its ruling.
District Judge Arvind Sharma endorsed three further points for the latest offences, triggering an automatic six-month ban under UK law.
The British actress has been studying for a master’s degree in creative writing at the University of Oxford since 2023.
Watson rose to fame in 2001 with the release of the first “Harry Potter” film, where she starred alongside fellow child stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.
