Lacey, Wash.

Firefighters in Washington state revived a puppy with Narcan after a fentanyl overdose earlier this week.

The Lacey Fire Department District Three shared a post on Tuesday regarding the incident.

Lacey firefighters said a crew that day discovered a puppy “unresponsive inside a vehicle where fentanyl was present.”

Rescuers said they were to revive the pup thanks to their training and a small dose of Narcan.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, Narcan is a nasal spray that is used as a medication to treat narcotic drug overdoses.

“It’s not every day we use Narcan on a four-legged patient, but our teams are ready for just about anything,” firefighters shared.

CBS is ending “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” next year.

The reported cancellation will take effect in May 2026, the standard end of the broadcast TV season.

“We consider Stephen Colbert irreplaceable and will retire The Late Show franchise at that time. We are proud that Stephen called CBS home. He and the broadcast will be remembered in the pantheon of greats that graced late-night television,” CBS executives said in a statement.

Thursday’s announcement comes just days after Colbert spoke out against CBS Global settling with President Donald Trump over a “60 Minutes” story, The Associated Press reports.

However, CBS said the move “is purely a financial decision against a challenging backdrop in late night” and “not related in any way to the show’s performance, content, or other matters happening at Paramount.”

Colbert also shared the news online and at his show taping on Thursday afternoon.

“Next year will be our last season,” Colbert is quoted as telling the audience. “The network will be ending our show in May. I don’t know if anything, anything, will repair my trust in this company.”

Emma Watson has reportedly been banned from driving for six months after she was caught speeding in England.

CNN reports the “Harry Potter” star was caught driving her blue Audi at 38 mph in a 30 mph zone on July 31, 2024.

The 35-year-old reportedly did not appear for the brief hearing at High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, where she was fined $1,400 and disqualified from driving.

BBC reports that the court heard Watson already had nine points on her license prior to the latest speeding incident, before making its ruling.

District Judge Arvind Sharma endorsed three further points for the latest offences, triggering an automatic six-month ban under UK law.

The British actress has been studying for a master’s degree in creative writing at the University of Oxford since 2023.

Watson rose to fame in 2001 with the release of the first “Harry Potter” film, where she starred alongside fellow child stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.

Volusia County, Fla.

A Florida man is facing charges for trying to poison his ex-girlfriend with bleach.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office, Edwin Guzman, 23, was arrested and charged with felony poisoning.

Investigators say Guzman was attempting to poison his ex by putting bleach in her vodka bottle and cosmetics.

Body camera video shared by the sheriff’s office shows deputies questioning his ex-girlfriend and her family about the situation.

“He, my ex-boyfriend, put bleach in the Tito’s bottle that I had,” the woman can be heard telling deputies. “And my uncle nearly took a shot of it. He almost swallowed it, but he realized there was bleach in there.”

Guzman’s ex-girlfriend can be seen showing the vodka bottle in question to deputies. She said she had poured it out, but it still smelled “like straight bleach.”

The woman explained to deputies that she and Guzman had just broken up, and when she got off work, she went to pick up her things. But Guzman had already put all her items in the driveway.

According to the sheriff’s office, Guzman also admitted to using the bleach in his ex’s skin care products.

“This is not how you break up,” the sheriff’s office shared.

Prosecutors to drop charges against man accused of trying to kidnap child from school: reports

Aurora, Colo.

A man accused of attempting to kidnap an elementary school student during recess last year is expected to have his charges dropped.

According to multiple outlets, the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office in Colorado intends to dismiss charges against Solomon Galligan.

The 33-year-old was arrested and charged with attempted kidnapping in April 2024.

Aurora police said he walked onto school grounds at Black Forest Hills Elementary School and approached a group of children during recess, trying to grab an 11-year-old boy.

The children ran away to escape Galligan that afternoon and they were able to run for help.

The boy’s mother said her son gave police Galligan’s description, and told them that he had white powder or some sort of substance on his face, along with smelling like alcohol.

Officers were able to catch up to Galligan and take him into custody.

However, Eric Ross, a spokesperson for the 18th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, shared that a doctor has found Galligan incompetent to stand trial last month.

“When a defendant is found mentally incompetent to proceed and is being civilly committed for mental health treatment, we are legally obligated to dismiss charges,” KUSA quoted Ross.

Authorities said Galligan has a criminal history, which includes a 2012 conviction for failing to register as a sex offender.

According to Ross, his office intends to only release Galligan to a mental health facility.

KMGH reports that Galligan has had four criminal cases throughout the state dismissed, with the issue of competency being raised in all of them.

Galligan is expected to have another court hearing later this month.
